Brampton Physiotherapist
Brampton Physiotherapist

I am Ankur Desai. I am a physiotherapist with many years of experience. I am a registered Physiotherapist in Brampton, Ontario and immigrated to Canada from a town called Valsad, Gujarat, India 10 years ago.

I currently provide in-home physiotherapy services to patients in and around Brampton, Ontario, Canada including the greater Toronto area.

Also, I provide virtual physical therapy services for physiotherapy patients all around the globe. Shortly I am coming out with a sequential Knee Replacement Rehab course. So stay tuned.

I am also working on my NPTE exam currently to become a licensed Physical Therapist in the USA.

I have a small family of me, my wife Dipti Desai and son Marmik Desai and my Sparky (Pomeranian).

Physiotherapy is in my blood as my dad Mr.Shankarbhai Desai has been a national award winner physiotherapist in India and has been successfully running a physiotherapy practice for the last 40 years. My younger brother Mr. Nirmal Desai is also a physiotherapist for the last 13 years.

When I was in India I was working as a Chief Physiotherapist for Center for Knee surgery, Baroda. It is the hospital run by Dr. Bharat Modi, a well-known knee replacement surgeon. It is a hospital where yearly around 800-1000 knee replacement surgery is done along with numerous arthroscopic knee surgeries. It was really fun and a great learning experience.

Along with that, I was having my own homecare physiotherapy practice covering the area comparable to the size of the whole southern Ontario.

I employed many physiotherapists and Physio assistants to provide in-home and in community physiotherapy services.

What can I expect from in-home physio sessions?

Any medical treatment has a few components. Please be prepared to commit an hour or so for thorough in home physiotherapy assessment.

So we start with in home Physio assessment to understand about your condition which includes Subjective evaluation in which we ask you questions about your health and your medical history to understand your problem.

After that we do an objective assessment which includes observing your posture and walking, palpation which includes palpating for tenderness and temperature changes and your joint movements and then we do some special test to narrow down on our physiotherapy diagnosis.

Lastly, we plan out the individualized treatment plan. We include you in this process, so it aligns with your short term and long term goals for your recovery.

Treatment details and goals are discussed and agreed upon, including the frequency of subsequent treatment visits. Modalities (such as ultrasound and TENS) and equipment can be brought into the home and home exercise programs are designed to use whatever equipment people may have in their home. Some devices may be lent to the clients as required- for example knee flexion boards and resistance bands.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy in place to protect our practitioners. Failure to give sufficient notice (24+ hours) of cancellation will result in 50% of the treatment cost charged to your account.

Do you treat adults and children?

Currently we treat mostly adults and children over the age of 16 years old.

"I met Ankur after my fall in May 2020, as a fall I had to go through a surgery on my right leg. I had multiple fracture and got a permanent rod inserted. Ankur gave me in home physiotherapy and rehab. His services came in handy as my mobility was challenged. He is very thorough and professional, knows his skill in and out. It is been a great help and support both physically and mentally from his services. To top it all he is very friendly and keeps the environment light and entertaining!"

"I hired Brampton PT to build up my 90 year old mother in laws strength.Several medical procedures left her very weak and bedridden. She has been working 3 weeks and can already raise her arms above her head and is much happier. Brampton PT comes to her room at her retirement home which is much easier then transporting her. Thank you."

"My mom had met with car accident and was seriously injured with multiple fractures of ankle and shoulder as well as whiplash injury leading to back pain and neck pain. We tried many different in home physiotherapy providers for her. But somehow she had been not improving. Since we met Ankur Desai we are very happy with his treatment and approach towards my mom injuries and also towards us as relatives. He informs and educate about all the treatments he is trying with my mom. He is very resourceful and knowledgable about his trade and very compassionate. I highly recommend him to anybody who is looking for in home physiotherapy."
